In this conversation, held virtually on the occasion of the exhibition Giosetta Fioroni: Alter Ego, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Sara Cwynar describe a reality dominated by images, exploring the changes in quantity, quality and interpretation from the 1960s to the present day by looking at Fioroni's art of the time and Cwynar's today. Their conversation is prefaced by an extract from Sara Cwynar's most recent video work, Glass Life, which premiered in New York in September 2021.
An excerpt of this talk is included in the publication Conversations V: Hieroglyphs, which also features a conversation between Yuval Etgar and Elizabeth Price on the role of research, language and etymology in the Price's artistic practice as well as a reproduction of epistolary correspondence between Cy Twombly and Virignia Museum of Fine Arts director Leslie Cheek exchanged between 1953 and 1954.
