Conversations 9: There Is No Place Like Home

2026

CONVERSATIONS is a periodical publication dedicated to the promotion of new perspectives on art of the twentieth century. The project draws on Luxembourg + Co.'s ongoing series of panel discussions and interviews with leading contemporary artists, curators and scholars, who analyse the legacy of important protagonists and events that contributed to the development of their own practice.

Including a panel discussion between Salman Rushdie and James Wood, moderated

by Yuval Etgar, drawing on Wood’s 2014 essay ‘On Not Going Home’, as well as Rushdie’s life-long endeavour to define his relationship with his native India.

A  panel discussion between Caitlin Haskell (Art Institute of Chicago), Cordula Grewe (Indiana University) and artist Allison Katz, moderated by Yuval Etgar on the occasion of the exhibition René Magritte: The Phantom Landscape.

As well as a excerpt is taken from a conversation between artist Sylvie Fleury and Claudine Grammont, Head of the Graphic Arts Department at the Centre Pompidou, moderated by Yuval Etgar, on 29 July 2025, on the occasion of the exhibition Drawing on Matisse: An exhibition by Sylvie Fleury at Luxembourg + Co. London.
