On not going home: Salman Rushdie and James Wood

On the 3rd February Luxembourg + Co. NY had the honor of hosting author Salman Rushdie and literary critic James Wood for an extraordinary discussion on the subject of ‘On Not Going Home’, moderated by Yuval Etgar. Drawing on Wood’s 2014 essay of the same title, as well as Rushdie’s life-long endeavor to define his relationship with his native India, the talk included a reading by Wood of a revisited version of his original text and an eye opening commentary by Rushdie on his own notion of home. The talk marked the closing of the exhibition ‘Seen and Unseen: Isamu Noguchi and Katsumi Nakai’.
